Traffic declines in November at Daytona Beach International AirportTotal passenger traffic at Daytona Beach International Airport (DBIA) decreased 34 percent in November 2008 compared with November 2007.
During November, 29,300 passengers arrived and departed through DBIA, compared with 44,622 in November 2007. For the 12-month period ending Nov. 30, 608,912 passengers traveled through the county-operated airport, compared with 704,786 recorded during the prior 12-month period and representing a 14-percent decrease.
November’s traffic decline reflected more depressed economic conditions nationwide and in Florida, which is experiencing escalating declines in air travel and tourism in most markets, according to airport officials.
During November, total airport operations including all aircraft landings and takeoffs decreased 6 percent from 20,533 in November 2007 to 19,355 in November 2008. For the 12-month period ending Nov. 30, annual aircraft operations increased 14 percent to 340,628 over the prior 12-month period.
