International Airport passenger traffic up 2 percent in May
Passenger traffic at Daytona Beach International Airport increased 2
percent in May compared with May 2011. During the month, 51,597
passengers flew in or out of the county-operated airport compared with
50,400 passengers in May 2011.
For the 12 months ending May 31,
passenger traffic at Daytona Beach International Airport increased 14
percent -- from 494,440 passengers last year to 562,743 passengers this
year.
“The traffic increase in May
represents an on-going steady picture of airline passenger traffic which
we believe will continue and potentially increase,” said Rick Karl, the
airport’s director. “The airport remains committed to working with
existing and potential air carriers to offer more capacity and air
service options for markets that are a good fit with our community.”
