DBIA short-term
parking closed due to orange alert
The Federal Department of Homeland
Security has raised the threat level condition at all U.S. commercial
service airports from condition yellow to condition orange. This is the
same action that occurred February 7, but later was reduced to yellow
alert condition.
As a result of this change,
Daytona Beach International Airport again has implemented the 300-foot
rule with the short-term parking now closed until further notice. The
parking rates have been adjusted to not penalize short-term parkers. In
addition, motor vehicles approaching the terminal will be subject to
random vehicle inspection. Burns Security will provide this service under
an existing contract with Volusia County. The increased security measures
are to remain in effect until further notice.
